sPEed – Analyze software

All boilers and pressure vessels with pressure of 0,5 bar or higher must be approved in accordance to PED from 29 of May 2002. This can be affected with use of the following harmonizing norms.

  • EN 12952 Strength calculation of water tube boilers
  • EN 12953 Strength calculation of shell boilers
  • EN 13445 Strength calculation of unfired pressure vessels
  • EN 13480 Strength calculation of metallic industrial piping
  • EN 1591 Strength calculation of flange joints

DXT has developed software for strength calculations, which is supported by abovementioned norms. EN13445 is a main norm, which the other similar norms reference.

sPEeD-Analyze software secures:

  • Easier case management in the certification phase
  • Uniform calculation/interpretation (calibration)
  • Minimizing the number of errors
  • Uniform documentation
  • Organized to approval procedures

Because the norms are relatively new, we are currently in a transitional period, where the national norms (TRD, British Standard, etc.) are gradually replaced by the harmonized EN-norms. Many companies have spreadsheets to make calculations based on the national norms and are worried of the consequences by changing to the EN-norms – these companies can benefit from changing to sPEeD-Analyze software from DXT.

Documentation, support and updates

The PED-software from DXT has references to the specific formal expression in the applicable norms. The software uses the same nomenclature as the norms, which ensures safety.

Despite the norms are not all using the same nomenclature, will data be available for exchange between the different norms without issues. The software will be updated continuously – due to errors in the norms as well as updates.

Customized courses

In connection to purchase of sPEeD-Analyze software DXT also offers training courses. The courses are intended for employees that needs to use the software.

In addition, DXT offer courses in heat transmission, thermodynamics and energy savings among other.

Development plans

DXT continuously works on improving the software regarding EN standards. As of now there are also new software being developed for: EN14394 – Heating Boilers.

The different standards have many sub-standards, that depending on the demand, will be implemented into the software.

It is always an option to customize the programs to the customer’s wishes.
