EN 13445 · Unfired pressure vessels

sPEeD-Analyze performs strength calculations to EN 13445 for unfired pressure vessels — the main reference norm — fast, traceable to the exact clause, and formatted for approval by your notified body.

The Standard

Strength calculation for unfired pressure vessels

EN 13445 is the harmonised European standard for unfired pressure vessels — and the main reference norm that the other EN pressure-equipment standards draw on. Part 3 (EN 13445-3) provides the design-by-formula rules for the pressure-bearing components — shells, dished and conical ends, openings and nozzles, flanges and flat ends — required to certify a vessel under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

sPEeD-Analyze implements EN 13445 directly: every result references the exact formula and clause in the standard, using the standard’s own nomenclature, so your calculation is unambiguous and fast for a notified body to review.

Benefits

Why engineers calculate EN 13445 in sPEeD-Analyze

  • Fast calculations — minutes instead of days in spreadsheet

  • Correct interpretation of EN 13445-3, with input validation

  • Large built-in material library covering EN pressure-vessel steels

  • Calculation reports formatted for notified-body approval

  • Exchange data with your other EN calculations despite differing nomenclature

Scope covered

Components and analyses covered

  • Cylindrical, spherical and conical shells

  • Dished ends (torispherical, ellipsoidal, hemispherical)

  • Openings, nozzles and reinforcement

  • Flat ends and bolted flat covers

  • Allowable pressure, test pressure and calculation temperature

The deliverable

A report your notified body will accept

sPEeD-Analyze produces a structured EN 13445 calculation report — component overview, utilisation and pass/fail per part, and project and approval fields built in — ready to submit.

  • Component overview with utilisation and pass/fail per part

  • Project, client and approval fields built in

  • Consistent layout across every calculation
